"Pujiang Innovation Forum – 2022 International Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum" took place on August 5, 2022 in Shanghai. The forum was hosted by Shanghai Institute for Science of Science (SISS), and was supported by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED). The forum conducted around the theme " Cultivate Disruptive Technologies and Pave the Path to Carbon Peak & Neutrality ", which explores the role played by disruptive technologies in discovering, selecting and cultivating institutions and paths towards the effective use of technologies in achieving goals of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”.17 experts from leading domestic and international science and technology innovation think tanks delivered speeches, around 200 scholars and experts attended the forum in person or online.

ZHANG Xu, President of CASTED, the Chairman of the Forum, delivered a welcoming speech; XIE Wenlan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcoming speech. The opening ceremony was hosted by Shi Qian, the director of SISS.

At the meeting, TU Shandong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of East China University of Science and Technology, released the achievement report of "2022 Carbon Neutrality Frontier", jointly researched by the Shanghai Institute of Science and the School of Carbon Neutral Future Technology of East China University of Science and Technology. The report analyzes and judges the trend of carbon neutrality from four aspects: strategic frontier, technology frontier, application frontier and Shanghai progress, putting forward four major policies to promote carbon neutrality in the world, five major strategies that should be adopted in the construction of low-carbon cities, and the "3+1" technology system in the field of carbon neutrality, and introduces hot technology trends such as offshore wind power and demonstration cases in low-carbon application fields. Zhang Xu reviewed the "dual carbon" strategies of countries around the world and shared his thoughts on green and low-carbon transformation in his keynote speech. Jancy Ayyaswamy, Senior Fellow from the Indian Commission for Technology Information, forecasting and Evaluation, introduced her thoughts on environmental sustainability and green technologies in India. Peng Xianke, Deputy Secretary-general of the China Academy of Engineering Science and Technology Innovation Strategy, pointed out at the meeting that the development of disruptive technologies is a common difficulty in all countries in the world, and "dual carbon" is a goal that must be achieved. Alexander Sokolov, Director of Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, HSE University, delivered a keynote speech on “Carbon Neutrality in Russia: Technological Solutions”, and Current state and future prospects of technological development in Russia aimed at achieving carbon neutrality also be touched in his speech. Yao Bingxiong, Director of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Solutions shared Baidu Intelligent Cloud's dual carbon practice solutions. In the field of technology, Liu Qiyan, Deputy Director of China Institute of Science and Technology Information, Lu Chunyang, Director of the Green Development and Low-Carbon Research Center of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Cao Yong, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Research Institute of Sinopec Economic and Technological Research Institute Co., Ltd., analyzed and discussed the role of energy storage technology, digital technology and green hydrogen technology in promoting the goal of carbon neutrality.
