“Pujiang Innovation Forum – 2019 International Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum” was Held in Shanghai

  May 6-7, 2019, "Pujiang Innovation Forum - 2019 International Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum" was held in Shanghai. The forum was hosted by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, the China Academy of Science and Technology Development Strategy, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The theme of the forum is "Technology Foresight: Science, Technology and Innovation in 2035"where scholars and experts had a comprehensive and in-depth discussion.17 experts from leading science and technology innovation think tanks at home and abroad delivered keynote speeches, and nearly 200 expert representatives attended the forum.
  
  Hu Zhijian, Dean of the China Academy of Science and Technology Development Strategy, served as the chairman of the forum and delivered a welcome speech; Zhang Quan, director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech; Chen Long, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Party Committee, and Luo Dajin, deputy director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, unveiled the Global Urban Technology for the Shanghai Institute of Science completed by the Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Shanghai Institute of Scientific and Technical Information. The opening ceremony was hosted by Shi Qian, the director of our institute.
  
  Topics such as technology foresight and emerging urban landscapes, the future of technological development and the driving force of original research, and innovation in the service sectors the future urban development were discussed. The vision of future development and the trend of research methods of technology foresight were discussd by scholars from different perspectives. Opinions and suggestions on the construction of Shanghai's global cities and science and technology innovation centers were put forward by Shanghai high-level experts from high-level think tanks. Experts from China Academy of Science and Technology Development Strategy,  Chinese Academy of Sciences Technology Strategy Consulting Institute, Russian National Institute of Higher Education, RAND Corporation, Atlantic Counci, University of Edinburgh, University of Sussex, and College of Science and Technology of Ireland. Future Institute of Copenhagen, Denmark, Springer Nature Group, Japan Science and Technology Policy Research Institute, Korea Science and Technology Policy Research Institute, India Technical Information, Forecasting and Evaluation Committee, Tsinghua University, Beijing Great Wall Enterprise Strategy Institute,Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Institute for Science of Science took part.
  
  The International Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum has been successfully held for four sessions and will continue to build the platform for scholarly exchange between international science and technology innovation think tanks, bringing together global wisdom, leading innovation issues and support Shanghai to become a center of science and technology innovation center.
