  On the afternoon of March 1, 2019, the second issue of the 2019 (the 48th issue) expert forum was held in the 1015 Academic Lecture Hall of our institute. Liu Yadong, editor-in-chief of the Science and Technology Daily, was invited to give a special report on "Re-recognition of Science, Technology and Innovation". Zhang Zhihui, deputy secretary of the Party Branch and deputy director of the Party Branch of the Party, and the deputy director of the Party Branch, attended the meeting.
  
  Liu Yadong pointed out in his report that it is necessary to correctly understand the connotation and mutual relationship between science, technology and innovation, and propose three theories: First, the scientific spirit is more important than scientific knowledge, and second, the innovation environment is more important than technological invention, and the third is Systematic cognition of the laws governing the development of science and technology is more important than the capture of core technologies.
  
  After the report meeting, the researchers of Science Institute exchanged discussions with General Editor Liu on the laws of science and technology development, the new round of medium- and long-term planning in Shanghai, and the resource allocation of basic research.
  
  Liu Yadong, senior journalist, editor-in-chief of the Science and Technology Daily, and vice chairman of the China Press Association. He has participated in many reports of major events and activities at home and abroad and has written a large number of influential works. He went to the United States in the 1990s and served as the chief reporter of the Science and Technology Daily in the United Nations and New York. In the past five years, he has traveled to 48 states in the United States. He has guided domestic readers in a comprehensive and multi-level understanding of American science and technology, education, society, culture and customs.
  
  With bachelor's degree and master's degree in engineering from Tsinghua University, he has background in natural sciences and social sciences. Good foreign language conditions and long-term experience working abroad contribute to a broad international perspective and the ability to conduct journalistic practices at a global level. His news works won the China News Award nine times. In 2007, he was selected as a leading talent in the national news publishing industry by the General Administration of Press and Publication. In 2008, he won the highest award in the Chinese press, the Yangtze River Award (Changjiang Series). In 2010, he was awarded a special allowance from the State Council. In 2011, it was awarded the “four batches” of talents in the national propaganda and cultural system.
